Welcome to my Canal Walk / Ratanga Junction Photo Gallery!
Next to the V&A Waterfront and Cavendish Square, Canal Walk Shopping Center is probably Cape Town's most famous shopping center. It is also one of the largest Shopping Malls in the Southern Hemisphere. Situated about 15 minutes outside the Cape Town CBD, Century City is a massive development containing Canal Walk as well as the Ratanga Junction Theme Park, business parks, and many new lakeside residencial developments.
For an are that was a swamp 10 years ago, Century City has come a long way. Like many new developments, the area has an aura of modern architecture, new money and rapid growth.
In terms of the shopping experience, you will most probably not be disappointed. There is a huge range of shops, probably the biggest in Cape Town. The aim tends to be less at tourists and more at Capetonians, with an abundance of Home shops, with the usual spread of unisex, shoe, boutique and furniture stores. There's a huge food court with many fast food outlets, a massive screen and a good entertainment programme.
