CapeTown CBD Night Photo taken from the V&A Waterfront showing Table Mountain floodlit (which happens most nights until late). I took this photo from the top of the Nedbank building near the Clocktower shopping center using my Canon Powershot A80 in manual mode and a time exposure. The V&A Waterfront is a hive of activity during the day, and at night becomes a feast of colour, with excellent views over the city, bay and the center itself.
On the night in question, it was very clear as the "cape doctor" was blowing. Mixed blessing - good for clarity, but not good if you are perched on the roof of a building trying to get a good time exposure shot in the howling wind. I took about 40 shots that night - the vast majority were not up to scratch due to the wind. Disappointing, but I managed to salvage this one, which captures some of the beauty of Cape Town City at night, and Table Mountain in all its floodlit awe.
